Digital Product Passport (DPP)

Emission Core brings the DPP to life

In the near future, every product sold in the European Union will carry a digital identity. The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is at the heart of this transformation, mandated by the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). It is designed to deliver traceability, repairability, and recyclability data across complex supply chains.

Our platform enables manufacturers, suppliers, and compliance officers to create, update, and share product-level environmental data in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions about DPP

DPP is a new EU digital requirement for products to carry a traceable, standardized record of their sustainability, composition, and lifecycle data. It’s a core feature of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

DPP will first apply to batteries, textiles, electronics, and construction materials, with more sectors expected by 2027–2030. If your product enters the EU market, DPP may soon be required.

We generate DPP-ready files that include PEF results, material breakdowns, origin tracking, recycling data, and eco-labels. You can distribute these via QR code, EPCIS, or API.

DPPs improve customer trust, enable circularity, and support take-back schemes, repairability, and reuse, all of which improve ESG scores and competitiveness in green procurement.

Emission Core aligns with the latest GS1 EPCIS, EU DPP architecture, and ISO/IEC standards for data transparency and interoperability.

Initially electronics, batteries, textiles, and construction products will be prioritized under ESPR. However, DPPs will expand to cover most products on the EU market soon.
